The sound of hot rod motors and the smell of catless exhausts and race gas fills the air. It’s almost as if you’s found yourself transported back to the 70’s, as you sit in a traffic jam, you notice that every car is a pristine hot pristine hot rod. Hot Rod Cruise week emphasizes American Muscle, however, the import tuner crowd made a good showing as well. Everything you see is Turbocharged, Supercharged, motor swapped, or otherwise race prepped, Wheelie bars and parachutes on the street are commonplace. The notorious burnouts were elusive this year as the law enforcement presence was at an all time high. The plague of continuous of rain that has lasted nearly a month did show mercy for 2 days so the hot rods could hit the street. Over all, it was an amazing show.
